Care Team

Matt's career in care started 12 years ago, taking up a Bank Healthcare Assistant role at his local hospital in Cheltenham. With another job lined up, this introductory care role was only supposed to be a two-month stopgap. Matt became hooked on the sense of reward he gained from helping others, while the fast-paced and varied work suited him well. He decided to stay in this role long-term, which lasted four years before he moved to Bristol to commence an Adult Nursing Degree.

While living in Bristol, Matt gained experience working at the Chesterfield Private Hospital, where he worked in surgery and assisted in complex procedures such as hip replacements, spinal and eye surgeries. Matt went on to gain further experience working in several wards and units at the BRI (Bristol Royal Infirmary). Matt's final hands-on care role was for St Monica's Trust, a leading Care and Supported Living Service in Bristol. Matt worked primarily in the Dementia Unit, which was always an area of keen interest for him. Matt learnt and implemented several modern approaches and techniques for dementia support during this time, which are still used by the service today, and met many incredible service users who had lived awe-inspiring lives.

Matt moved into the private sector in 2017, working for one of the largest Homecare agencies in the country as a Care Coordinator. Matt enjoyed the change of pace and went on to help build a brand new service focussing on Learning Disabilities and Autism. Matt joined ENA in January 2021 as a Care Manager. Looking for a role which would be more hands-on and Client-facing, and he wasn't disappointed! He got to work implementing systems and structures he had learnt from previous experience, eventually going on to lead ENA's fledgling Business Development Team.

In July 2023, Matt was appointed Acting Registered Manager & Head of Business Development and Marketing. Matt is working closely with ENA's Directors to rehaul policies and procedures to ensure they support a person-centred approach as much as possible.

Matt enjoys spending his free time with his partner and Dog in his hometown of Cheltenham, going on hikes, enjoying good food and planning holidays that he still needs to book! Matt also enjoys reading, painting, DIY, cinema and gaming.
Gerard joined ENA Care Group in June 2018 and has been working in healthcare since 1996.

Gerard started as a Care Assistant and over the years gradually worked his way up to become a Service Manager in residential and supported-living care. His background is with adults with learning difficulties and complex needs, which he truly loved. After taking some time out in 2010, Gerard returned to care by trying Live-in Care as well as office work as an assistant, before becoming a Deputy Manager.

He enjoys his position with ENA immensely, looking after the South of England: Surrey, Hampshire, Kent, and Cambridgeshire. Care is the only thing Gerard knows and thrives on, so he plans to be around for a long while yet.

Gerard loves traveling and meeting new people, be it in his private time or for work. When not working, Gerard loves going to gigs, busting a few moves on a dance floor, and enjoying a pint or two.

I moved to the UK from Chile in 1985 and I enjoy every aspect of the UK lifestyle. Becoming an English citizen several years ago, I obtained a Diploma and also a Masters degree in Business from a local university here in the UK. I am a keen volleyball player and a water-ski enthusiast. I love my big family, some of whom work closely with us at ENA.

Training

I started working as a training coordinator for ENA in June 2020. I began my career in health and social care by chance. I was young and volunteered at my local charity store to enable individuals who were living with a learning disability to achieve a paid role through the adapted training I provided them. I dedicated the next ten years to gaining knowledge, skills, and experiencing every side of social care — from supported living, learning disabilities to substance misuse, and of course my favourite subject Dementia. I now get to support individuals not only gain the skills to provide quality care, but I also get to see the impact their care has on the individual they care for. I like to engage care staff to acknowledge the importance and value of their role as well as giving them the skills and confidence needed to provide the outstanding care ENA delivers.

I joined ENA in October 2020 as a training consultant, prior to this I worked in the sector for 10 years. I worked my way up from a domiciliary carer to a manager, from there I found my passion for teaching and became a trainer in the care sector. This combined both my passion for care and teaching others.

What I love most about my role is that I can utilise the skills I learned as a carer in the learning environment and help stretch and challenge learners to develop their own knowledge, skills and confidence in their role. Working at ENA has been an amazing journey so far and that's a testament to the amazing people in my team. I can't wait to see where my career takes me from here.

Care Team

I started my career in care as a Healthcare Assistant back in 2012 with what was supposed to be a temporary role but went on for almost 4 years working across different wards from the busy A&E/ITU units to oncology and dementia care. I knew early on that it was the sense of reward I got from helping others and setting a high standard of care that kept me interested in the care industry and led to several other roles from leading small teams in a care home to studying part of my nursing degree. My most recent position before ENA saw me coordinating complex packages of care for clients based in the community for one of the biggest healthcare providers in the country. In January 2021, I began my journey with ENA as a Case Manager and hope to not only bring with me the knowledge and experience I've gained over the years, but also to learn from my very talented new colleagues to help make ENA as outstanding and progressive as possible. In my spare time, I enjoy making the most of what the West Country has to offer, particularly exploring my new home-city of Bath and spending as much time as possible with my family and friends. I look forward to seeing more of the world, my favourite destination so far was Iceland — it was like walking on another planet.

I progressed rapidly within the Domiciliary Care Sector, eventually managing a team of around 30 carers and 60 clients, and caring for a gentleman with Traumatic Brain Injury.
I came to ENA in September 2022 as a Care Manager.
The values and ethos of ENA reflect my own values and morals and, along with a supportive team around me, make it a great company to be a part of.
As a Care Manager no two days are the same and I enjoy the challenge each day brings.
I strive to make a difference within the team and the company, and to pass on my knowledge and experience to the team of carers I manage.

Co-founder and owner of the ENA Care Group. I am an active director overseeing both the service delivered to clients and carers, and the home-care team. I've been back since March 2012, after taking a ridiculously long maternity break. I jump at any opportunity to get back into uniform and brush up on my nursing skills. I joined ENA in May 2020. Prior to this, I spent my nursing career in a busy Trauma and Orthopedics ward, where I witnessed a huge range of injuries and illnesses and it was there I was able to work my way up from the bottom. Originally, I had looked into becoming a paramedic but somehow fell into nursing. One day I might look into this again, to say I 'have the t-shirt', but I will see where my career takes me and what else I can fall into along the way. In my spare time, I travel up and down the country teaching the next generation of the Royal Air Force. This could include anything from life skills to military skills, preparing people to go into a service or a different career path. I work with a great team in the office and some fantastic carers within my area. I am looking forward to assisting with growing the company and making it the best it can be.

Hello, my name is Lisa and I joined ENA Hourly Care. in 2018 to fit around my young family.
In Febuary 2022 I became the Care acaoordinator for ENA Hourly Care and I have enjoyed every moment in my new role.
Prior to this I worked for a few other care companies and have beenproviding care for vulnerable and elderly pepople for nearly 15 years. Care is a job that I really enjoy and is very rewarding.
Since I joined ENA Hourly Care I have been very happy and settled.
I joined ENA in October 2020. Previous to this, I was a registered manager for a domiciliary service and extra care scheme and have only ever worked for two other companies. Over the years, and through hard work and determination, I have gained qualifications and experience and worked my way up to senior positions. I started working in the care sector 11 years ago as a part-time carer, to work around my children, and wish I had come into it sooner as I really enjoy working with the elderly and vulnerable. Although at times it could be hard work, it was also the most rewarding job I have done and I have learned so much history by talking to and listening to clients and their life stories. I have always strived for and worked hard to get the best outcomes for clients and their families, so they have a quality of life they can enjoy and will continue to enjoy here at ENA.
